Summer Research Student Apprentice (3 Positions)

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Processing pollinator DNA for sequencing. 
  • Assist with NATURE Summer Camp Activities. (ND ACES)
  • Assisting with DNA library preparation of sequencing. 
  • Performing quality control checks on DNA. 
  • Assisting with the Lakota Winter Squash SGR project 
    • Taking leaf spectral measurements. 
    • Assessing photosynthesis rates in different treatment conditions. 
    • Watering the raised beds 
    • Processing soil samples for microbial DNA.
    • Planting and filling Raised Beds.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Preference given to current students and those with prior research experience.
  • Commitment to professional standards of confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and interpersonal skills.

Appointment will be subject to the applicant’s successful completion of a satisfactory criminal background check and drug screening. ĢƵ gives preference to qualified Native American’s and Veterans in accordance with the Spirit Lake Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO). ĢƵ is an EEOC Employer.
